Review, Men's Health Power Training by Coach Dos

Book Review, Men's Health Power Training by Coach Dos

Wow what a book!!

I have become a fan of coach Robert dos Remedios since reading this book! Coach dos is the Strength and Conditioning coach for College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA he was also named the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) coach of the year in 2006.

I must say as an alumni of the Mt. San Antonio College football team I was very happy to see Mt. Sac beat Canyon in the 2008 So Cal Championship 51-44 (yea I know this has nothing to do with the book, but hey it’s my blog:)

Anyway, Power Training by Coach Dos is a great book; the layout and design of the book is easy to follow. He has a simple outline of workout from basic strength training to Hypertrophy, Power….etc. The end of the book gives simple workouts that give you the reader the opportunity to choose what lifts to perform for each workout. He might say perform a “knee dominate exercise” for 4 sets of 8 reps, and you get to chose from a list of say 10 exercises that are knee dominate.

It is written so the everyday person will understand all of the exercises listed (pic’s also included for all exercises listed) As a strength coach myself I have recommend this book to friends and fellow coaches to read, to be honest it is not the type of book I would normal purchase for my personal reading (I usually get the more technical books), Most strength coaches don’t like to buy the book that’s says “do this for this many times”, but after reading it I am happy I made the purchase!!!!

Well as I have noticed I’m not the best at book reviews, but I hope I am getting my point across that this is a great read! If you want to know more just do what I did and check out the Amazon book review for Men's Health Power Training.
